Formerly known as The Academy( many years ago, I’m told), Lafferty’s(which was a great bar), and Shotts Bar. Deenos is supposedly a “Sports Bar” and does get a lot of travelling fans when Caley Thistle are playing at home. It does though have an annoying habit of allowing really loud music over the top of football games so you can’t hear yourself speak, nevermind others or indeed the commentators.

Also, when I once approached the bar staff to see if they could turn off MTV Base and put the African Nations Cup on the telly I was greeted with grunts of “eh?”. After much explanation of what the ANC was my request was granted but they still left the really loud and naff dance music on so you couldn't hear a thing!

So, Deenos is a Sports Bar in as much as it has football shirts on the wall and lots of TV's. Whether those TV's are showing sport is another matter. Also, Deenos attracts a high amount of neds.
